COVID-19:
2021 Global Pluralism Award Update

In the last year, the Global Centre for Pluralism has been closely monitoring the socio-economic impacts of the health crisis around the world due to COVID-19. Public health measures and economic uncertainty continue to cause unprecedented disruption in the operations of many organizations.

To enable candidates from the most affected countries to complete their submissions, the deadline for submissions for the 2021 Global Pluralism Award was extended last year. Due to this extension, our timeline has been slightly modified and we will now be announcing the Award winners in February 2022. We will communicate any further changes to the timeline on this page and on the Centre’s social media.

We have been inspired by the more than 500 submissions from people and organizations that, in the midst of this crisis, continue to counter xenophobia, support refugees and build connections across groups. More than ever, we believe that their efforts need to be recognized and supported, enabling pluralism to become the articulating principle of all public health, economic and political decision-making.
