“Love is revolutionary”. With this statement, Pryia Ramani, co-founder of India Love Project (ILP), summarized their work normalizing interfaith, intercaste and LGBTQ+ relationships in India. India Love Project, one of the 2023 Global Pluralism Award laureates, seeks to respond to narratives of hate, division and “othering” that target India’s minorities, through an approach they describe as “positive news as resistance.” Twice a week, their Instagram account shares a real-life, 150-word love story diverse couples.
The talk with Pryia and couple Arsheen Kaur and Aamir Fahim, moderated by journalist Manjula Selvarajah was organized by the Centre, in partnership with Dignity Network, Journalists for Human Rights and Alliance for South Asian Aids Prevention (ASAAP).
